Monday Roundup III
Tried to keep this roundup light for obvious reasons. Have to admit I let a few serious things slip in. Hope you enjoy.
Texas takes public speaking to a new level. Dripping Springs School Board President to speaker: “Mr. Akers, I understand — I believe you’re a swimmer — but if you would mind putting your pants back on for a comment, that would be appreciated.” Yea, his kids are going to be popular in school…
Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller, USMC schooled every flag officer in the military on what the words Leadership, Duty, Loyalty, and Integrity mean. He was relieved of his duties for posting a video demanding accountability from those involved in the Kabul fiasco. When no one took responsibility, he informed his superiors he was resigning. He had three years to go before he could retire with a full pension and medical benifits. This is the type of person who is a leader that people follow. Generals like Milley (Army) and McKenzie (USMC) are the type of bureaucrats in uniform that cause leaders like Lt. Col. Scheller to leave. Which type of officer do you want leading our troops? I know the type I want.
Virginia Supreme Court Spanks Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS). LCPS fired an elementary school physical education teacher for stating at a school board meeting that he would not "affirm that a biological boy can be a girl and vice versa because it's against my religion." Any first year law student knows this is clearly protected speech. The teacher sued on First Amendment grounds and won. LCPS appealed to the Virginia Supremes and lost. Next time someone tells you a person is smart because they’re a lawyer, remember a lawyer represented LCPS.
On January 20, 2021 I was assured that the “adults are back in charge.” On August 24, 2021 the British Daily Mail ran this headline “Meet Sleepy Joe and Kamala - the Lord and Lady Gaga of politics.” I guess Lady Gaga is an adult...
Sex, Lies, and a 5 Star Hotel - The Aussie way of protesting COVID Quarantine. Sounds like fun, maybe not overly smart, but fun.
Too cool, and you thought rocket scientists were boring. I believe Elon Musk is one of the greatest geniuses of all time. He’s eccentric, which I used to tell people I was too. Alas, the DU (daughter unit) informs me that only rich people are eccentric, so I’m just weird.
Wind turbines kill birds, trains kill wind turbines. Must be a galactic law. Video at the link - language warning not safe for work, children, and many adults.
Not to be undone by naked public speaking. Texas man machetes burglar’s face…karma.
Yep, this will make her family proud: Belgian Woman Banned from Zoo After 4-Year 'Affair' with Chimpanzee.
Some one needs to tell Biden that being both incompetent and offensive is no way to go through life. He referred to his point person on Ida “boy” and told Louisiana Governor Edwards to “just holler” if he needs anything after Ida hits.
The force is strong in this 101 year old lobsterwoman. I read the article and thought ‘so she gets up at 4:45 three days a week, big deal, I get up around noon.’ Then my wife pointed out that is a.m. not p.m. - never mind.
Afghan immigrants that are not SIV eligible - where do they go? The UN is estimating 500,000 more Afghanis will flee Taliban held Afghanistan by the end of the year. The EU is reportedly not going to allow mass immigration of refuges and the three of the four countries bordering Afghanistan already have just under 2.3 million. I’ll be writing more on this latter in the week.
