We Stand At The Edge Of The Abyss.
“Civil wars leave nothing but tombs.” (Alphonse de Lamartine)
On January 27, 1838, Lincoln spoke before the Young Men’s Lyceum of Springfield, Illinois, in which he warned about the danger to our nation from within. It’s from this speech that many attribute to him the statement that “America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we lose our freedoms it will be because we have destroyed ourselves from within.” To be honest, Lincoln never uttered those words, instead it’s a paraphrase of the words he did speak:
"At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide."
Today we stand on the edge of the abyss Lincoln warned us about.
If you listen to the old press and some of our current elected leaders, former elected leaders, and radical labor union leaders the ‘disturbances’ are merely peaceful protests marred by a few random individuals engaging in some violent acts that the Los Angeles Police Department is fully capable of handling. All of this is false. In fact, what we are witnessing in Los Angeles is not even a riot. It is an insurrection.
What is going on in Los Angeles is a well-funded insurrection led by the far left, Non-Government Organizations (NGOs), and foreign nationals who are illegally in our country. These groups are assisted by far left local, state, and federal politicians, government employees, and radical union leaders who see this insurrection as a means to retain their power, privilege, and prestige – not to mention their excessive incomes (both legally and illegally derived) – that they have become accustomed to. Think I’m overreacting? Let’s look at the evidence.
First, what’s going on in Los Angeles is not a riot in the sense that a bunch of Americans are engaging in mass violence fueled by the government’s refusal (real or perceived) to extend the rights and privileges guaranteed to them by our Constitution and laws. To the contrary, the current violence is directed at federal officials and facilities because the federal government is enforcing the Constitution and democratically enacted laws.
Second, the violence is not organic. Instead, it’s a well-orchestrated campaign carried out by NGOs using illegal migrants, Antifa, and useful tools as foot soldiers. Additionally they receive, at least moral support from radical politicians, unelected government officials, labor leaders, and the old press.
DataRepublican (@DataRepublican on X) and Laura Powell (@LauraPowellEsq on X) are both leaders in tracing NGO activities and where their funding comes from.[1] Between the two of them they identified the Coalition for Humane Immigration Rights (CHIRLA) and the Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSLWEB) as two of the major players. PSLWEB is a communist organization with a history of anti-American activities and CHIRLA is a radical pro-illegal immigration organization with a long history of participating in and coordinating anti-American activities. CHIRLA is also closely linked to the California Democratic party with a particularly strong relationship with Los Angeles Mayor Bass. Ms. Powell and DataRepublican’s research also establishes that CHIRLA received $34 million in government grants – $450,000 from the Biden Administration and the rest from California.[2]
Other organizations involved in the LA Insurrection are: 1) the Million Voter Project of California that has close ties to CHIRLA and ACT Blue, as well as several other radical organizations; and 2) the Union del Barrio and Community Self-Defense Coalition (CSDC), both of which are radical pro-illegal immigration organizations with ties to MECHA that has called for the conquering of parts of the U.S. that once belong to Spain and Mexico.[3]
In addition to the NGOs there are two labor unions known to be providing at least political support to the insurrection. First up is the Service Employees International Union (SEIU). David Huerta, the president of SEIU California was arrested on June 7 and charged with 'conspiracy to impede an officer' when he interfered in an ICE raid. Following his release on $50,000 bond SEIU International President April Verrett released a statement that can kindly be described as condemning the government for enforcing our laws and demanding that foreign nationals illegally in the U.S. to be allowed to remain.
Next up is Becky Pringle, the President of the National Education Association (NEA) – the country’s largest teacher’s union – who literally screamed into a microphone that “We the people. All of us… All of us have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of justice.” Damn the Constitution is something I never thought I’d hear coming from the education “elites,” but here we are.
Data Republican has a thread on X exposing the ‘intelligence’ activities of these NGOs. They are effective in locating where ICE raids are occurring and in some cases planned. They then use social media and texts to inform the foot soldiers where they need to go to challenge federal authorities. As scary as this is, it pales compared to the fact that they have at least a rudimentary logistics system, which means they also have a command system and substantial funding.
Fox News posted a video of a pickup truck with two people in the back passing out boxes of brand new UVEX “bionic face shields.” These face shields are designed for people working in dangerous areas and protects the person from flying metal and chemical spills. A useful item to have when faced with the possibility of rubber bullets and pepper balls. An internet search shows that the masks being handed out like candy range in price from about $30 to $41 dollars each, depending on the model. What this means, at least to me, is that the insurrection is well funded with at least a basic logistics system, and that means they also must have some form of command structure. That is not to say that everyone taking part in the insurrection is taking orders from those in command, but it does mean they are being played by those in command.
Having well-funded command, intelligence, and logistics systems supported by NGOs with some government officials, union leaders, and the media providing PR for them would be useless without foot soldiers. So who are the ones that are actually challenging the our Republic with violence? Well, as far as I can tell there are three groups:
- Antifia of course is there. C.K. Bouferrache (@hunnybadgermom on X) is a freelance reporter and recognized expert on Antifa and has informed me that she identified that group as taking part in the LA Insurrection (Ms. Bouferrache did not use the word “insurrection” – that is mine).[4] Further, the Jewish Press describes Antifa as:
“a transnational insurgency movement that endeavors, often with extreme violence, to subvert liberal democracy, with the aim of replacing global capitalism with communism. Antifa’s stated long-term objective, both in America and abroad, is to establish a communist world order…”
Ms. Bouferrache concurs that this is an accurate description of Antifa. .
- Next up are foreign nationals illegally in our country. It’s true that no illegal migrant has yet been arrested for participating in the insurrection, or at least California has not released that information. However, the number of Mexican flags being carried as people burn cars and use force against federal officials strongly indicates that there are in fact a significant number of foreign nationals illegally in the U.S. participating in this insurrection.
- Finally, I believe there are the useful tools who are taking part in the insurrection due to a foolish belief that they are carrying the standard of “human rights.”
Now let’s connect the dots. We have well-funded anti-American NGOs coordinating the violence in Los Angeles. These NGOs have at least a rudimentary command structure, intelligence branch, and logistics system that provides instructions, information, and supplies such as bionic face shields to the ‘foot soldiers. The foot soldiers consist of Antifa – a violent communist organization whose anti-American credentials are well established, illegal migrants waiving the Mexican flags, and useful tools. These foot soldiers engage in violence that has one goal – to force the U.S. to allow illegal migrants to remain in the country contrary to the will of the American people, our laws and our Constitution. That is the definition of an insurrection.
Regardless of what some call it; it’s a direct attack on the sovereignty of our Republic and the foundation of our Constitution. Therefore, it is time we call it what it is - an insurrection - and treat it as such.

[2] It is unclear whether the Trump Administration rescinded the $450,000 grant before it was paid.
[3] These two organizations are not NGOs.
